Bryony, one of my fabulous friends has kindly agreed to let me celebrate her running achievement, in the hope that others might be inspired to take up running. She is an amazing Mum that can.
This mum can! Super proud of my achievement to run 5k pretty muddy for race for life, 8 months after having baby number 2. Only started running after having her and love it now! Had always wanted to do race for life but never thought I would be fit enough! Was so much fun!!
Bryony had never run until after having her second baby. This picture shows her completing a ‘pretty muddy 5k race for life’ to raise money for cancer research. I’m sure you’ll agree this is an amazing achievement.
Not only did she run 5k, but somehow managed to finish, covered in mud whilst still looking glamorous!
When I told Bryony I thought it was a great achievement her modest reply;
Ha not sure I’d describe myself as amazing, but hopefully an inspiration to others out there… If I can, anyone can!
So I hope you agree a fantastic inspiration for the first post on the series #thismumcan.
If you’ve never run before, it is possible to start any time.
Even after having a couple of babies.
Thank you so much for sharing your story Bryony!
If you’re keen to start running after having a baby it is best to chat to your GP during your 6 week post partum check. Most advise waiting until 3 months after childbirth before starting high impact exercise such as running. Some women, such as me, with pelvic floor weakness may be advised to take it easy for up to 6 months.
If you have any comments for Bryony on her running achievement I will make sure they get passed on to her.
